Based in the historic Strathcona neighbourhood, we offer space rental at reasonable rates to groups and individuals who wish to hold events that align with our values. (Link https://vancouverwe.com/about-us-2)

  • Capacity: 48 (seated at tables); max 60 seating in classroom with tables; 75 standing.

  • Rates: $50/hour. (30% off to partners. Ask us). Minimum 2 hours required. 

  • Payment: We accept payment through e-transfer, cheque, or credit card. (If you wish to pay with credit card, we charge 3% on top to cover the processing fee charged by the card company.) Please make sure payment is completed prior to your event. 

  • Features: Kitchen access (extra cost), tables, chairs, washroom, hand wash station, free Wi-Fi

  • Rental Area: 1,120 sqft (approx. 32 ft x 34 ft)

  • Options:  Projector for $25

Availability:
The space is generally available in the early mornings and late evenings during weekdays and all weekends, depending on the type of event. We may have more availability during school holidays.

  • Insurance: anyone who wishes to rent space from the Writers’ Exchange must purchase event insurance, such as the Liability Insurance For Hosts | Event Liability Policy offered by Duoo, to cover an event host liability in case of an incident. If your business already has insurance, please add us as an additional insurer. Please send the certificate or insurance to us at least 7 days before the event.

General Rules: 

  • No smoking allowed in the building.

  • No alcohol.

  • Please leave the room as you found it. If the room is left untidy, the house will charge $75 for the cleaning fee.

  • No items can be left in common areas of the building.

  • Please refer to the Terms and Conditions in Rental Agreement for all other rules.
