YOUTH PROGRAMS
Our Youth Programs are for youth in grades 7 - 12
GRADE 7 to 8 TRANSITION PROGRAM
Moving from elementary school to high school can feel overwhelming! Our Transition Program is designed to help ease the worries that come with this big change. Through the program, grade 7 students receive advice from high schoolers who have been in their shoes and get introduced to key staff at their future school. This way, they’ll know who to turn to if they’re feeling overwhelmed or need support adjusting to their new schedule.
GRADE 8 - 12 PROGRAMS
We run programs in two East Vancouver high schools, along with a dinner program at our home base, creating supportive spaces where youth can connect, build confidence, and explore their creativity.
Many of the youth in our programs have been with us since elementary school, and some even return as Volunteer Literacy Mentors—giving back by supporting younger students at the very same schools they once attended.
SUMMER
Summer is a crucial time to strengthen the connections we've built throughout the school year. For youth in our Grade 7 to 8 Transition Program, it’s especially important to keep the momentum going as they prepare to start high school in September.
Our high school youth love exploring the city, trying new things, and going on adventures. That’s why we run a summer field-trip program, keeping them active and engaged with our staff and their Volunteer Literacy Mentors while creating fun and meaningful experiences together.
