We are thrilled that you want to join our team of volunteer mentors! Before you take the time to fill out this form, please check that you meet the minimum requirements:

  • 16 years or older

  • fully committed to attending the same weekly shift for a full program/term (see Programs and Times below), although priority will be given to volunteers who can commit for two or more terms

  • able to volunteer during program hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • passionate about children's literacy and not afraid to be wacky!

  • able to provide two personal or professional references

Programs and Times:

After-School (Sept – June)
Monday – Friday
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Programs run in East Vancouver
Minimum commitment: the same day/program every week for 2 hours for a full term (3 – 4 months)

Summer Daytime (July - Aug)
Monday – Friday
Programs run in East Vancouver
Minimum commitment: summer is much more flexible, with a morning program, and afternoon program each day, and options to commit to the same day each week, or to one full week of summer.
